Immerse yourself in a royally spectacular day out, fit for a king! Your adventure begins with a visit to none other than Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of His Majesty The King. And guess what? It's one of the rare gems in the world of royal palaces that's still in action today!
During the summer, when the palace isn't busy with official duties, you'll have the royal treatment as you explore the 19 jaw-dropping State Rooms. These are the very spaces where all the glitz and glamour of ceremonial events and royal entertaining happen. And guess what they're filled with? The crème de la crème of the Royal Collection, featuring masterpieces by the likes of Rembrandt, Rubens, and Van Dyck, plus elegant sculptures by Canova, stunning Sèvres porcelain, and furniture that'll make you say, "Oh my throne!"
Now, after all that regal exploration, we've got a treat in store for you! Take a leisurely stroll along The Mall and head to The Royal Horseguards Hotel for a delightful two-course dining experience.
This place is a slice of history in itself! It sits right on the River Thames at the Embankment and combines two iconic buildings. One's The National Liberal Club, where legends like Churchill, Gladstone, and Lloyd-George have left their mark. The other is the club's stunning apartments, once home to the very first chief of Britain's Secret Intelligence Service. Talk about secrets and sophistication!
Inside, you'll find a blend of Victorian grandeur and modern comfort that'll make you feel like a true VIP. And now, let's talk food. Here are some examples of the dishes that’ll be on offer during your visit:
Starters: Sweet potato & barrel-aged feta salad with a zesty twist, pressed ham & pea terrine.
Main Courses: Double-cooked free-range chicken supreme, poached salmon with courgette ribbons and a tartare hollandaise twist, pan-fried potato gnocchi with a medley of delectable flavours.
Desserts: Burnt Cambridge cream, Kentish strawberries with a dollop of Chantilly cream, warm chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Wrap up your culinary journey with a choice of tea or coffee, and voila! You've just experienced a day fit for royalty, and it's all yours to savour. Just keep in mind that opening times and dates might change unexpectedly, so be sure to check before you go. And one more thing, the State Rooms are currently closed until July 2024, but your voucher will still be valid during this period. Get ready for an unforgettable royal rendezvous!

What did you get up to?
The Buckingham Palace Summer Visit with Sparkling Afternoon Tea was an enlightening visit to a iconic British landmark of history, followed by the cultured afternoon tea.
There is a wonderful private art collection exhibited in the Ballroom. The paintings have been commissioned by King Charles from each of his trips to other countries and have been selected by him to show the best of his personal memories. Many are of him and Queen Camilla. These 'Royal Selfies' are not to be missed.
The art exhibition continues with the Royal Collection which is one of the world's best and includes many Dutch and Italian masters and many of the rooms contain fine furniture and statues. The way out takes you through the extensive (and relatively peaceful for central London) Royal Garden.
Finally, afternoon tea at The Royal Horseguards Hotel was a pleasant and relaxing venue to start off with a couple of delicious cocktails in the bar as we waited to be seated at our table. I was impressed with the sparkling wine, Chapel Down Sparkling Wine, as well as the savoury finger sandwiches and scrumptious scones.
