To make sure each and every experience creates the most memorable moments at the highest quality, we have our own team test them as often as we can.
We headed to The Cheese Barge in Paddington for an afternoon tea with a difference - lots of cheese! If you are a cheese lover, this is a good one.
The barge itself is lovely, and it is a different setting to enjoy some food. The Paddington Basin area is nice too, so have a walk around before or after your experience.
We started with the Quicke's curried curd while enjoying our glass of prosecco (deep fried cheddar cheese curds, tossed in spices, and drizzled with chili honey!) The curds were the most surprising and different item that we had, and they went in flash!
We were then asked to select a grilled cheese sandwich filling each, plus six cheeses from a menu of nine. Having selected the Keens' Cheddar and Cropwell Bishop toasties we then simply excluded two cheeses that we had previously heard of and one that was going to be in one of the grilled cheese sandwiches.
First came the grilled cheese sandwiches and they were seriously good, filled with gooey melting cheese - too hot to handle! By this point we were starting to realise just how filling an afternoon of cheese can be.
The cheese board then arrived with each cheese paired with something to compliment the cheese. For example, the Driftwood Goats Cheese came with honeycomb and rosemary sugar, and the Cornish Gouda with Clotted Cream Fudge.
We were told the order in which to taste the cheeses to get the most out of the flavours developing. We did this initially but then went it for more of what we liked the most.
We really enjoyed this experience from being in the Paddington area and on a barge to the friendly staff and of course the different cheeses. The food was brilliant.

Tasting cheeses that we had not had before and understanding why they were paired with what seemed like some unusual accompaniments, but it all worked.

From information requested to ordering the voucher from yourselves the service was perfect. Unfortunately we could not say the same about the experience. The toasties were very "greasy"and I was disappointed with the cheeses as they did not seem fresh. Unfortunately the service was very poor and not attentive in any way. It's a thumbs up to Indytute but sadly not for The Cheese Barge

A real treat for cheese lovers, you get a good amount of food and all of it was delicious. You are also supporting British produce and the canal boat venue gave a great point of difference.
