Escape Rooms are a recent craze that keeps on getting bigger. People love to test their mental skills and their teamwork efforts to break out of the locked room that is full of various puzzles. You might think that it is a simple game, but it can be much more complex, especially when you're under the dangerous game of pressure!
This experience involves two people being locked in a room together, with a series of clues and objects in the room to help them work out how to escape. A series of puzzles need to be solved in order to make their way out; there is a quiz master on hand to help from outside the room, but only via walkie talkie. The clues will need to be solved in order to move onto the next one until the final clue will reveal the password for the safe, in which is the key which will enable the trapped pair to escape from the room. They must be quick! 60 minutes feels like a long time but can be gone in seconds!
There is a choice of different rooms to pick from, each with its own hints, clues and riddles to be solved, making this a great gift idea for anyone who likes to engage in a little mental gymnastics.
Make sure you, or the recipient, choose the perfect partner-in-crime - one who you won't get agitated with under pressure and who will make it all the more fun!

What did you get up to?
After being greeted at the door by a friendly face we did not waste time any time. They gave us the low down on a couple of last-minute hints and clues on how to complete our escape room game. We weren't alone as we were given a Walkie Talkie to use if we got stuck. The experience consisted of various puzzles and challenges, each leading to the next answer for a padlock or a locked item, once we had solved all the puzzles we managed to find the key and escape!
What did you enjoy the most?
I loved how you had to work together to work out the clues and it involved a lot of thinking outside the box! This isn't an experience I'd normally think to do and I'm SO glad I did it.
What did you get up to?
I arrived in London Liverpool Street and it was a simple one stop on the underground and a 5 minute walk to the door. I was greeted by an enthusiastic member of staff who informed me the theme of the Escape Room was 'Spy Heroes'. Once we were ready to get going the member of staff stepped convincingly into character and explained the background to the task - we're undercover, our agent friend has gone missing and we need to save him. The final word of advice before entering the room was to touch everything as nothing is as it first appears.
It was great fun, the game has a medium difficulty rating which in my option is a good indicator. The four of us definitely had to work as a team, pulling on individual's problem solving skills, you needed to think laterally to solve the clues. The experience lasted for an hour.
What did you enjoy the most?
Without giving too much away I would certainly recommend this escape room experience and would consider the other rooms on offer at this location. I'm always on the lookout for new thing to do with my teenage family/adult friends and this experience and location was ideal.

Disappointing
This was our second Escape Room experience and unfortunately not a patch on our previous one. The venue was tired and tatty, with dangerously steep stairs to reach the room on the first floor. The room, clues and props were poor and need refreshing. The mystery itself was tedious with a lot of reading that turned out to be unnecessary and mostly irrelevant anyway. There was a lot of repetitive padlock codebreaking, and even when we had correctly figured out the combination locks, many of the padlocks didn't open properly.
The only positive really was the staff member on duty was friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately would not recommend and suggest spending your money elsewhere.

Low budget
Firstly, the staff member was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We did The Triads escape room.
The actual room escape felt low budget and this is not reflected in the cost. It is all in one room and it lacked a dynamic range of puzzles, locks and cyphers. It was not too difficult to solve and there was assistance if needed in the form of text messages on a small mobile phone.
The building feels old, worn out and in desperate need of renovation. The stairs are very steep and potentially hazardous to those with accessibility difficulties.
There is a lot of room for improvement.

Really clever puzzles for the whole family
My son received as a bday present and I added to it so whole family could do it. We just managed to go before tier 4 lockdown started. We really enjoyed it and didn't argue too much! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had never done an escape room before so didn't know what to expect. My only criticism would be that the room was a bit smaller than I expected. My advice, pair up and work in teams and plan to have somewhere to go for refreshments afterwards as it's on an industrial estate. You don't need to take anything, it's all provided.
