What did you get up to?
The Gate Hangs High was a great getaway to enjoy some peace and quiet. The pub is surrounded by beautiful views of fields. The pub dog was very welcoming when we arrived as were the friendly staff. The rooms are just behind the pub which meant it was easy to come and go without having to go through the pub itself and also meant we couldn't hear any noise from the pub. The room was spacious and clean, it also had a helpful information booklet with the history and nearby attractions. Breakfast was lovely and filling, definitely worth £9. We visited the nearby market town Banbury, which has many shops and cafes to explore.
What did you enjoy the most?
Relaxing in our comfortable room after a long day of exploring. Although the pub dog was definitely a close 2nd favourite!
What did you get up to?
We visited Farmers Boy Inn in Gloucester for a two-night getaway. My partner and I opted to go during the week, the hotel is dog friendly, but we did not bring the pooch! We arrived on the first night to a beautifully presented double room with a large area outside for all the guests to mingle around the rooms, we were in the Grandfather pie room, all the rooms are named different pies! After a great sleep, we had a lovely breakfast, pancakes fresh blueberries and a full English, we then explored the New Dean Forest nearby for you nature lovers out there this is an amazing location. We had dinner from a local takeaway while enjoying the free satellite TV in the room and we then enjoyed a late-night walk, far from the nearby towns and villages the stars in the sky are a sight to behold, then time for the second sleep in a big comfy bed. Overall, we had a great restful break away and would love to return! Many thanks to Steph and Phil for making it a memorable couple of days.
What did you enjoy the most?
Our favourite part of the experience was the aesthetics and night walk, the location is beautifully located away from the loudness of the city, the stars are beautiful and rarely an opportunity to see them as well as you do out there! It's so quiet it'll be the best night sleep you've ever had! The old building looks amazing and their seating area out the back of the bar is covered so you can sit in the rain and enjoy your pint without getting wet!

Better than expected
Really enjoyed a 2 night stay at Garstang.
Hotel clean and comfortable (if slightly dated).
Staff helpful and friendly.
Food good choice and quality at breakdast and dinner.
Good base to explore local area.

2 night wales break
wonderful 2 night getaway in a secluded spot. Loved the Glamping pod! Nice comfy bed and all your mod cons. Especially enjoyed looking out at the stars as there is no light pollution! Toilet/shower facilities were very clean and bonus hot water! will definitely stay again! cant wait to come back :)

Absolutely beautiful b&b
spotless clean very comfortable. Lovely friendly hosts. There is a bar lounge but also an honestly bar which is very well stocked with drinks and snacks and reasonably priced. Nice peaceful location but within walking distance of seafront. Will definitely stay again.
