Fire Engine Driving at Prestwold

Make your inner child (or adult) jump for joy at the thought of steering a 10-metre sized fire engine.

You’ll start by having an in-depth briefing inside the cab; there is a lot to take in such as the dials, seating position (you’re going to be up high!) as well as the sheer size of it. Did we mention it is 10 metres?

Then, it is time to become the top dog of any fire crew: the driver. The truck driver is the most important person when those blue lights are blaring. They manoeuvre the fire engine through the streets, tight spaces and over narrow landmarks to get to the emergency, and they do it at top speeds. Sit in the driver’s seat for 15 minutes where you will drive around the auto test track which includes driving through tight slaloms (zig-zags) and technical sections as well as reversing to really show off your skills. If you can park one of these beasts, you’ll never have to worry about parking your car again.

Once you’ve successfully completed your Fire Engine driving, you will receive a certificate to show off to everyone who asks you what one of the best things you’ve ever done is, and you even have the opportunity to purchase professional photographs that were taken of you during your time as a fire truck driver. You’ll never forget that feeling of being the hero, even if there’s no emergency you need to answer.

Important Information: The person driving the car will be required to sign a disclaimer accepting liability in the event of damage to the vehicle. The driver will be given an option to purchase damage waiver cover when booking to minimise their financial exposure should there be an accident.
