Steam trains have been around for several hundred years and were a key component of the industrial revolution. They don't call it The Golden Age of Steam for nothing!
Sit back and relax as your steam engine meanders through unspoiled British countryside, where you really feel like you’re experiencing something from a bygone era. These locomotives have been carefully looked after and restored. They look absolutely incredible when you consider how old they are. Any families of train enthusiasts, or just a family looking for an enjoyable leisurely day out, will really enjoy this wholesome day on the tracks.
At many of the locations, you will be given a rover ticket. This enables you to hop on and off and enjoy venturing into different parts of the local area, where there are often various activities on offer. Other locations offer a return ticket along the line, where you’ll see a huge array of different views. Some locations even have an onsite train museum, where learning about the history of travelling by steam really goes into overdrive.
These steam train trips and railway attractions are often run by volunteers and you can really feel the heart and soul they put into running these days and how proud they are of the steam engines in their fleet.

Brilliant
We had a great morning reminiscing our childhoods on old locomotives - admittedly not steam trains but definitely carriages with a corridors. A wonderful experience and the staff and volunteers couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. And the train cafeteria was a great bonus. Definitely return

What a great experience. The whole thing was first class, the staff were spot on, the train crew were brilliant. The train journey out of Wansford to Peterborough was awesome, the steam train was great. To make the experience even more memorably, it was a great day in terms of the weather. Highly recommended.

Excellent
We used our voucher to havd a full day out along the route that leads to Peterborough. The experience was fantastic, food and drink drink avaliable at every stop and we also spent the day at Ferry Meadows which is one of the stops. So it was great value for money and the parks in Ferry meadows where excellent and could have stayed longer.
