Nationwide Gliding Experience

• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to availability and weather conditions
• Some venues are only open on selected days/months - please see the venue list below for details if different
• The individual requirements of each glider club vary
• General guidelines are minimum weight 7 stone, a maximum weight of between 15 and 16.2 stone depending on the type of aircraft in use
• Maximum height 6ft 2ins
• Spectators are welcome at all venues and most have clubhouses offering refreshments
• All clubs included in the nationwide gliding experience voucher are BGA approved

Locations

Devon  Honiton - Dunkeswell Aerodrome

• 30 minute flight in a motorglider
• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year 

Essex   Colchester - Wormingford Airfield

• 1-2 flights (winch launch) with up to 20 minutes flight time
• Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays April-October (vouchers for this venue must be booked and redeemed before the end of June 2026)

 Essex   Sudbury - Ridgewell Airfield

• 2000ft aerotow with around 20 minutes flight time
• Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between April and November

Kent  Ashford - Squids Gate, Challock

• 2000ft aerotow with around 20 minutes flight time
• Weekdays only (usually Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) from April to September

Oxfordshire   Chipping Norton, Enstone Aerodrome

• 30 minute flight in a motorglider
• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year

Peterborough   Crowland - Crowland Airfield

• 2000ft aerotow with around 15 minutes flight time
• Weekends throughout the year

 North Yorkshire   Selby - The Airfield

•  2000ft aerotow with around 15 minutes flight time 
• Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays

Warwickshire   Bidford on Avon - Bidford Airport

• 2000ft aerotow with around 15-20 minutes flight time
• Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year

 Wiltshire   Swindon - Sandhill Farm Airfield

• 2000ft aerotow with around 15-20 minutes flight time
• Weekends and Bank Holidays throughout the year

 York  Rufforth, Rufforth Airfield

• 3000ft aerotow or motorglider with approx 20 minutes flight time
• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year

The gift vouchers you use for your experience gifts typically have a 12 month validity.

If you have not used your voucher in this time, please contact us and we may be able to help extend the deadline by up to a further six months.

There is an administration fee to extend the validity of a voucher.
