What did you get up to?
I took my boyfriend to Alcotraz Prison Bar for a fun and unforgettable experience, and it absolutely delivered! From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we'd entered a completely different world. We were greeted by a 'prison guard' who took our names and led us into a holding cell with our fellow 'inmates'. We were escorted to our cell, handed our orange jumpsuits, and given the opportunity to smuggle in our alcohol of choice.
Once we settled into our cell, the immersive magic truly began. We were a little apprehensive at the start as we've never done immersive theatre before. However, the actors were fantastic and were fully committed to their roles while always making us feel comfortable. As the story unfolded around us, we sipped on four delicious cocktails, expertly made from the spirits we'd snuck in. A few people in our group had mocktails, which looked just as tasty!
The whole experience lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and there was not a dull moment. There was always something going on: plot twists, secret missions, and plenty of banter with the guards.

What did you enjoy the most?
Other than the tasty cocktails, our favourite part of the experience was the exciting side-quests the actors take you on. They made sure that everyone was able to get involved and I'm sure there were plenty of things happening on the side that I wasn't even aware of! I also loved the fact there were so many photo opportunities on the day! You have some 'down-time' in the cell where you can walk around, take photos with the props and with each other. It's a great way to capture the moment and remember the day.
Top Tip
1. Make sure the bottle you bring in is easy enough to hide- I had a 35cl bottle and it was perfect for to smuggle in (with help from the corrupt guards)! 2. If you're going in the evening, have a filling dinner at a restaurant beforehand. It's a short walk from Brick Lane so there's lots of tasty options. 3. Make sure you make the most of the experience by going in with an open mind!

spa day with sunday lunch
even though package was with pizza i rang before and asked if i could do sunday lunch which was lovely. personally the meat was a bit rare for my liking, but hey cant please everyone!!! it was still overall nice and edible meal. we went to spa and the facilities such as hottub and steam rooms and salt for feet was juat lovely little touches. i felted very relaxed and needed it. i would say my family members got married there 16 years ago and still looks same - so whether or not place needs some modernising. part from that great experience.

Just Brilliant
A very enjoyable stay, made even more special with the unexpected upgrade - huge thanks to the amazing Amanda on reception for sorting that out. It really set the tone for the whole visit. The food was spot on from start to finish: a delicious carvery, a brilliant breakfast with loads of choice, and everything served piping hot. The spa was a lovely bonus too - really relaxing overall, though a bit of gentle background music would make it even better as it can feel a touch too quiet at times. The location couldn't be more convenient and was incredibly easy to get to, which made the whole trip feel effortless. All in all, a great stay and one I'd happily repeat. Would definitely stay again.

Tower Bridge was Fabulous but The Shakedown not so fabulous
Our visit to the Tower Bridge was great, very interesting and lovely to see from a different perspective. However, our experience of the meal at The Shakedown afterwards was very disappointing. We located the restaurant earlier in the day, and returned just before our table was booked at 6pm only to find it shut, with a message at the door saying to go to the 'Courtroom Bar'. I waved my paper voucher at the two staff members sitting in the restaurant and they pointed for us to go around the corner, which we did, but we could not locate any Courtroom Bar. We returned to the Restaurant and again made hand signals and waved our voucher to say that we had a voucher for a meal and could not locate any Courtroom Bar, when a lady member of staff again pointed to around the corner from where we were standing. Around the corner was a Hotel called The Dixon, so I went inside and said I was looking for the Courtroom Bar only to b
