What did you get up to?
My boyfriend and I went to Slug and Lettuce in Colchester for our 2-course meal. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff, who had our set menu laid out for us on our table. Our experience entitled us to a main and either a starter or dessert each. We struggled to choose between the starters or desserts as the options were very tempting for both, however we both decided on desserts for the second course. Whilst we were entitled to a beer or glass of Prosecco each, we both fancied a soft drink instead, which was also an available option on the menu. The set menu had a concise but varied list of options, including choices for vegetarians.
For mains, my boyfriend opted for the beef burger, and I ordered the chicken fajita pasta. Both of these were absolutely delicious; my partner is a big burger fan and he was very impressed, as was I when I had a bite! I'd never tried chicken fajita pasta before, but it was very flavoursome and creamy. For desserts, we went for the strawberry daiquiri sundae and warm churros filled with caramel and a chocolate dipping sauce on the side, which we both thoroughly enjoyed! Overall, we were both very pleased with our experience, from the efficient service, pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff. The only thing that we would change would be the toilets, as they looked in need of some TLC! We also left feeling very full, so 2 courses were enough for us.
What did you enjoy the most?
We thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal and the friendly service received. If we had to pick our favourites out of the food, it would be the burger and churros respectively.
