Our helicopter pleasure flights are absolutely incredible, but if you want to take it to the next level, then a one on one flying lesson is the way to go!

Take control of a helicopter, at heights usually reserved solely for birds, in this breath-taking flying lesson.

The lucky pilot in training will first receive a 30 minute technical briefing, where they’ll learn about the controls, techniques, layout of the cockpit and essential safety procedures.

The instructor will start the flight, and then once at a steady altitude, the participant will take the controls for 15 minutes of flying freedom. Feeling the exhilarating rush of gracefully guiding a helicopter through the air is hard to match!

When landing back at the flying school, they’ll be presented with a certificate of achievement and if they’d like to, images and video from the flight can be purchased, to show off their skills to friends and family!

What did you receive?
A helicopter flight, with taking the controls during the flight. Because of fog that morning all flights were running late, so my flight was delayed. Flying is weather dependent! During the waiting time we got to ask questions about the company, our lesson and were shown around a hanger where a variety of aircraft are stored.
After take-off, via headphones, the pilot talks through the principles of controlling the helicopter, explaining altitude, airspeed, pitch and roll, referencing the cockpit dials where necessary, while I had a loose grip on the flight stick. I then under dual control and guidance take control myself, correcting any deviations from our explained flight path.
The return leg of the flight you get guidance and control the helicopter decent via positioning the collective lever (what looks like a handbrake) at your side.
Completing a triangle flight path and on returning back to the airfield, there is some practice of making the helicopter hover near the ground before landing.

What did you enjoy the most?
It has to be taking control of the helicopter; I'd do it again...and hopefully improve.

Top Tip
Experiencing the view below and turbulence (it rained slightly), try and keep yourself relaxed while controlling the helicopter. Even tell yourself out loud to take a deep breath and relax if helps.
