Celebrate Imperfections with a Golden Touch.
Ever heard the phrase “there’s beauty in the broken”? That’s the philosophy behind Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing pottery with golden resin, transforming cracks into celebrated features. This workshop in Kensal Rise offers a unique and thoughtful introduction to this ancient craft.
Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you’ll take a broken piece of porcelain—be it a vase, bowl, or plate—and carefully mend its fractures. The process involves applying resin and gold powder, embracing imperfections as part of the object's history rather than something to hide. It’s a methodical, meditative experience that combines art with mindfulness.
Perfect for creatives, romantics, or anyone keen to turn shattered pieces into shining treasures, this workshop includes all materials. You can also bring your own beloved broken item, though time may limit how much you can complete. Held monthly in the charming Kensal Rise area, this 2-hour session is an ideal gift for one or two people.
Leave with a beautifully mended piece—and a refreshed appreciation for life’s perfect imperfections.

I purchased four Kintsugi tickets as a Christmas present for each member of the family, for us to share an experience together. We did the class this past Thursday with Dotty by Design and we all really enjoyed it. The tutor did a really good job of sharing some history of the craft, demonstrating and then helicoptering to help everyone, offering advice and hints and coaching to help ensure we all made the most of our experience. The location was great - right next to the station. The facilities and tools and information provided were excellent too - just right. I felt the comms were good too - signposting the upcoming event as it approached.
