"I love this kit. I bought one a couple of years ago for our children and we were all amazed with the life cycle of a caterpillar to butterfly!! The kit contains the netting/mesh tunnel for the chrysalis to transform into butterflies, a pipette for feeding the 'special syrup' and placing this on the fruit to watch the butterflies feed from it (sugared water). There are instructions and a voucher to be able to obtain the caterpillars. You can either send this off with a cheque as payment or you can use the voucher online to order your caterpillars, you will only need to pay for the postage and packaging which I think is £2.99, you can even select which day/date you would prefer the caterpillars to arrive on. Once you have paid they will send you a small tub with a brown substance at the bottom of the tub which is the food for the caterpillars - you don't need to do anything with them (apart from observe them) until they are ready to move to their enclosure. This is such a great kit"

"good product but wished packaging wasnt so geared up to small children as slightly older children feel a little offended despite it being suitable for all ages"

"Lovely idea. My 3 yr old bug loving nephew and I loved watching the caterpillars and then all the different stages. It is something you know happens but never get to see, so to be so up close and personal was really fun AND educational. My nephew can tell you the whole process and even I've learnt a thing or two."

"Butterfly conservation is a priority; we must encourage people to be aware of the rapid decline of many species in Britain.Despite my best efforts to entice them in my garden, planting flowers and bushes which they love I have had very few.Not daunted I came across Live Butterfly Garden to rear my own Painted Lady. In fact I am so keen I purchased two.It is so exciting watching the caterpillars growing, soon I will have Chrysalids which will develop into adults. With so many buddleia, sedum, scabious plants they will not go hungry on release. This is a first try for me, if successful I will repeat this adventure with my two grandchildren"
